RAF 100 Baton Relay
We were exceptionally honoured and proud to have been chosen for a visit from the RAF100 Baton Relay Team when they passed through The Wellington Pub Garden en route to RAF Feltwell on Friday 29th June 2018.
Members of the baton Relay team from 54 Squadron RAF from RAF Waddington and members of Feltwell and District Royal British Legion
The specially designed baton had started the journey around the UK and abroad on 1st April 2018, exactly one hundred years since the formation of the Royal Air Force.

The baton was carried by lots of volunteers that all had some sort of connection to the RAF, some were serving RAF personnel, some cadets, veterans and also many members of sporting associations within the RAF.
During the baton's journey over 100 days it visited 100 sites associated with the RAF. The challenge originally was in the style of orienteering. Each baton carrier was given a start and end point and had to work the rest of the route out themselves.
The baton travelled by various means of transport including being transported along the River Thames by the RAF Rowing Club, carried by the RAF Falcons as they parachuted from an aircraft, carried by a rider on horseback and power kited along Benbecula.
